Deadpool & Wolverine Easter Eggs: Every Cameo, Fox Callback And Void Deep Cut

Deadpool & Wolverine is less a film than a wake, and it knows it. Twenty-four years of Fox's Marvel output get exhumed, insulted and eulogised, usually in the same shot. Because so much of the film is explicitly about references, almost everything on this list is confirmable on screen. Here is the catalogue.

The opening: digging up Logan

The film opens on Wade excavating the grave from Logan, then using the adamantium skeleton as a weapon against TVA agents, scored to Bye Bye Bye by *NSYNC. It is a statement of intent: this film will treat the most respected entry in the Fox X-Men canon as a prop. The 20th Century Studios logo gag that precedes it sets the tone before a single line of dialogue.

• The TVA returns from Loki, complete with Miss Minutes and the bureaucratic aesthetic, with Matthew Macfadyen's Mr. Paradox as the antagonist.
• The concept of an 'anchor being' whose death collapses a universe is invented here, and it is what justifies the entire Fox retrospective.
• Deadpool's flash-forward vision of being cradled by Thor is a genuine tease that the film never explains.
• Wade's 'Marvel Jesus' running joke is the film's thesis about its own commercial position, stated repeatedly and without subtlety.

The cameos

The Chris Evans gag is the best-constructed misdirection in the film. The scene is staged so the audience expects Captain America, and Evans plays it for a beat before shouting 'Flame on!' It is also freshly relevant: Evans is on the confirmed cast list for Avengers: Doomsday on 18 December 2026, and Marvel has still not confirmed which of his two Marvel roles he is playing. Anyone telling you otherwise is speculating.

The Void, and what is buried in it

The Void is the wasteland at the end of time from Loki season one, presided over by Alioth, and it is used here as a scrapyard of discontinued intellectual property. The recognisable wreckage includes the 20th Century Fox lettering itself, a colossal Ant-Man skeleton, and pieces of hardware from across the Fox and MCU catalogues.

1. Cassandra Nova is the villain, taken from Grant Morrison's New X-Men, where she is Charles Xavier's malevolent twin. Her psychic hand-in-the-skull technique is comics-accurate.
2. Her enforcers pull from across the Fox films, including Tyler Mane's Sabretooth from the 2000 X-Men and Ray Park's Toad from the same film, both recast in their original actors.
3. The Deadpool Corps includes Ladypool, Nicepool, Kidpool, Babypool and Dogpool, all drawn from the comics' multiverse of Wades.
4. Dogpool is played by Peggy, a genuine prize-winning ugliest-dog contest entrant, which the marketing leaned on heavily.
5. Wolverine's mask is the yellow-and-blue comics costume, worn in live action for the first time after twenty-four years of Hugh Jackman asking for it.
6. The Wolverine variant montage includes an Old Man Logan silhouette, a brown-and-tan suit and a version with an eyepatch, nodding to Patch, Logan's Madripoor alias.

The Void is a landfill for cancelled franchises, and the film has the nerve to make that funny and then make it sad.

The returning Deadpool cast

Deadpool 2's ensemble comes back almost intact: Vanessa, Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Yukio, Dopinder, Blind Al, Buck, and Rob Delaney's Peter, whose X-Force survival remains the franchise's longest-running joke. The Honda Odyssey gag also returns, which is now a three-film running bit about a specific minivan.

What is easy to miss is how much of the film's structure is inherited rather than new. The opening credits gag, the fourth-wall address, the taxi-driver bookends and the merchandising jokes all follow the template the first two films set, which is why the TVA material slots in as cleanly as it does. The genuine innovation here is tonal: this is the only entry in the series where the jokes and the eulogy are made out of the same material.

The end credits

The end-credits sequence is the reason people cried at a film about a man making genital jokes. It is a montage of behind-the-scenes footage and archive material from the Fox X-Men era, covering two and a half decades of casts and crews, scored to You're the Best Around. Wade's closing voiceover reframes the whole film as a thank-you note. There is no post-credits scene beyond a short Johnny Storm gag.

What we could not confirm

Several claimed background cameos and blink-and-miss logos in the Void have circulated since 2024 that we cannot verify at any available resolution, including a widely repeated claim about a specific Fantastic Four building appearing intact. We have listed only wreckage and cameos that are clearly identifiable or credited. On the Doomsday front: Channing Tatum's Gambit, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden and Rebecca Romijn are all on Marvel's confirmed Doomsday cast list, which makes this film's mutant reunion a rehearsal rather than a farewell.
