Krakoa was an extraordinary run and an enormous barrier to entry. It built a decade of dense political worldbuilding - resurrection protocols, national diplomacy, an economy - which was thrilling for committed readers and near-impenetrable for new ones. From the Ashes deliberately walks that back: fewer institutions, smaller teams, characters operating in a world that has not been reorganised around them.

The parallel with what Marvel Studios is doing is hard to miss.
