Biography
Anti-Venom is what happened when Martin Li's healing touch cured Eddie Brock's cancer and, in the process, reacted with the symbiote residue still bonded to his organs. The result was a white-and-blue inversion of Venom with an entirely different function: instead of infecting, it purifies. Anti-Venom burns out disease, toxins, drug addiction, radiation and — critically — other symbiotes, which is why every symbiote in the Marvel Universe is terrified of it.
It also gave Eddie the one thing Venom never could: a reason to be liked. As Anti-Venom he worked out of F.E.A.S.T. shelters curing addicts, and Marvel let him be genuinely heroic for the first time. The cost was built in — Anti-Venom's antibodies also destroy the spider-powers of anyone it touches, making Spider-Man's most useful ally simultaneously his most dangerous one. Eddie sacrificed the symbiote to cure the Spider-Island infection, and Flash Thompson later carried the mantle.

Comics history
Dan Slott and John Romita Jr. created Anti-Venom in Amazing Spider-Man #569 (2008) during New Ways to Die, immediately establishing it as the one thing Mac Gargan's Venom could not fight. The immunity to sound and fire was a deliberate inversion of thirty years of symbiote rules.
Eddie burned the symbiote out completely to synthesise a cure during Spider-Island (2011), then went through Toxin before regaining Venom. Flash Thompson took the Anti-Venom identity in Venom: First Host (2018), carrying it through Absolute Carnage as one of the few weapons that reliably worked against Cletus Kasady.
