The story
Expelled from MIT for running a term-paper business, Riri Williams goes home to Chicago with an unfinished suit and no funding, and takes a job with a crew led by a man whose cloak is powered by something he does not understand. The technology-versus-magic collision is the show's actual thesis.
Parker Robbins is the Hood, and his cloak's source is Mephisto — the MCU's first devil, fan-theorised since WandaVision and finally delivered here. Riri's own moral compromise, and the AI recreation of her dead best friend she cannot switch off, is the more interesting half.

Better than its three-year shelf life implied, with a genuinely strong Chicago texture and a lead who deserved this instead of a supporting slot in a Wakanda sequel. Mephisto's arrival is played too casually for what it is. The Natalie subplot is the best thing in it and the show keeps interrupting it to explain the plot.
