The story
Spinning out of What If…?'s zombie episode, the series follows a band of survivors — Kamala Khan, Shang-Chi, Kate Bishop, a resurrected Blade — across a quantum-infected Earth where nearly every hero has been turned. The Scarlet Witch, still undead and still the most powerful being alive, rules what is left.
It is Marvel Animation's first TV-MA project and it uses the licence: decapitations, cannibalism and a bleakness the studio's live-action output would never attempt. It is also only four episodes long, which is both its restraint and its limitation.

Marvel Zombies delivers on its gory promise with real style, but four episodes leave its characters and its world thinly sketched.
The MarvelGossips verdict
The most violent thing Marvel has released and one of the least substantial — a genuinely striking-looking series with about ninety minutes of story in it. Vellani and Olsen are both excellent, and the apocalypse never develops any texture beyond its own premise. Worth watching for what it proves Marvel Animation is now permitted to do.
