Biography
Karnak is the member of the Inhuman Royal Family who was never put through the Terrigen Mists. His brother Triton was mutated into something amphibious and miserable, so their parents refused to expose their second son, and Karnak instead spent his life in the Tower of Wisdom developing his mind and body to their absolute limits. What emerged is arguably more dangerous than any Terrigen gift: he perceives the flaw in everything — a wall, a machine, an argument, a person — and strikes it.
That makes him the Royal Family's philosopher and its executioner. Warren Ellis and Gerardo Zaffino's Karnak (2015) took the idea to its logical end: a nihilist who sees the fracture in every belief system, including his own, and cannot stop seeing it. He is Black Bolt's strategist, the man who tells a silent king what he does not want to hear, and the least comfortable person in any room he occupies.
